Laura Catena and her ‘100-year’ plan

Acclaimed Argentine winemaker, Laura Catena, says she is delighted to have her top-end label, Nicolás Catena Zapata, sold through La Place de Bordeaux as it was part of her “100-year plan” to have the wine in the cellar of every major collector in the world.

She was speaking during a recent trade launch and tasting in London of the new vintage of Nicolás Catena Zapata, which is named after her father and iconic Argentine winemaker who did so much to pioneer and put Argentina on the global wine map.

It’s why Vinexpo Bordeaux is such an important event for Catena as it is an opportunity to not only show the wine and the new vintage, but explain why working with La Place de Bordeaux, and the négociant network, is so important to her global strategy.

She shares her father’s passion to promote Argentina as being able to make and stand alongside the greatest wines in the world. It’s why she believes La Place de Bordeaux, is the ideal platform to help take the wine and the Catena name to the most important, influential and prestigious collectors around the world.

Two of Catena’s wines are currently being sold through 10 merchants on La Place, the Nicolás Catena Zapata 2015 and Adrianna Vineyard Mundus Bacillus Terrae Malbec 2015.
