Capetta – The Making of a Main Protagonist in Piedmont Wines
The Capetta Winery was born in 1953, when Francesco Capetta began selling bulk wine in a small winery in Santo Stefano Belbo, a small town in the Langhe – a unique region recognised as UNESCO heritage site, on the hills of which a local excellence is made, the Moscato grape.
Over time the Capetta Winery has grown and has been radically renewed, and acquired the Duchessa Lia brand. With dedication and passion, the new generations of the family have turned the company into one of the main protagonists of Piedmont winemaking, appreciated all over the world for the quality of its products and for company innovation.
The Capetta Winery specialises in the production of DOC and DOCG Piedmont wines, and more specifically they offer three different variations of Moscato, all of them DOCG: the Moscato d’Asti and the Asti and Asti Secco sparkling wines.
The Asti DOCG from Duchessa Lia is a new sparkling wine of excellence. It was born from a different production process of the white Moscato grape variety. It was presented some months ago and has already been highly successful thanks to its fine and persistent perlage, its refined and balanced taste and its fragrant and flowery scent, features that make it perfect as an aperitif or to accompany an entire meal. This is an innovative and delicate sparkling wine, which received two important awards by the retail business at Vinitaly: “Best product innovation: other sparkling wines charmat method 2017” and “Best packaging sparkling wines 2017”, with reference to the elegant and original bottle in which it is sold.
Even more accolades have been given to Duchessa Lia: the Moscato d’Asti DOCG and the Brachetto d’Acqui DOCG were selected as 5 Star Wines by the Vinitaly guide, which chooses the best wines of the world of national and international wine production.
