Tuesday 29th May will see the official opening ceremony of Vinexpo taking place at 10:30 am in the Hong Kong Convention Centre, with a number of senior state officials from Hong Kong, France and Australia, including the honourable SenatorAnne Ruston, Australia’s Assistant Federal Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources. The presence of the Senator underpins Australia’s country of honour status at this Vinexpo Hong Kong 2018.
Other key officials expected to attend the opening ceremony include Edward Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Joe Wong, Commissioner for Tourism, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Eric Berti, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macao, Christophe Navarre, Chairman, Vinexpo, and Guillaume Deglise, CEO, Vinexpo.
Just a few days ago (18th May), Senator Ruston was in the news in Australia, as she announced a two million-dollar funding project to bring more international visitors to South Australia’s wine regions. Meanwhile, a $5 million International Wine Tourism State Grant provides state wine associations with funding for international wine tourism research, planning and implementation activities. The Australian Government is also supporting Australia’s wine industry through the $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package.
