The Colomba Bianca winery was founded in 1970, and over the past 10 years it has become the biggest wine growing co-operative in Sicily.
The company today has around 2,500 partners and extends over 7,500 hectares of vineyards between the provinces of Trapani, Palermo, Agrigento, Caltanissetta and Ragusa.
Colomba Blanca works with the aim of ensuring that its farmers receive the right compensation for their work, adding “dignity to Sicilian agriculture” and to the wines which express at best their territory. It is for this reason that each one of the company’s wines is dedicated to its farmers.
Colomba Bianca is now the biggest producer of organic wine in Italy. At present the organic production is at 11,000,000 litres, or in other words, 22% of the total production. Their aim is to increase the organic production up to 50% of the total production.
